Frustrated by the overpriced and poorly designed Digital Viewfinder offerings, I decided to create a more elegant (and inexpensive) solution to focal length visualization. With DSLR photographers in mind, the interface mimics the types of lenses they use by means of a 3D rendered dial. The phone’s video feed is scaled/cropped to simulate each focal length, and all options are available within a single touch. Even though current design trends have steered away from skeuomorphic interfaces, LensPick still seems to benefit from this look, although a “flat” version is in the works.

Built in Objective-C with Xcode for a 100% native experience. Why not SWIFT? I believe SWIFT is still a moving target and Objective-C does not need to be abandoned at this time.
All form factors are supported. The interface re-arranges itself according to available screen size.
The video feed for the camera is used for a live-view feel. The image is scaled and cropped as needed, in real-time.
The 3D dial was pre-rendered and stored/displayed as a single sprite texture. This is how 2D games are often animated.
This app has been maintained through many years, device models and iOS versions. The code and settings are flexible and easy to maintain.
